Like China? We're looking more and more like a Communist country with each passing year. Our political process is pretty much completely worthless now. Vote for tweedle-dee or tweedle-dumb. What difference does it really make to the power structure in this country? There are slight differences, which can have largely different outcomes as Noam Chompsky says. But, the overall debate is so narrow and controlled by special interest that it kind of makes the concept of a Constitutional Republic or representative democracy kind of a joke in modern America. Our economy is highly controlled by special interests, just ask some farmer who wants to grow hemp or some alternative medicine practicioner. The powers that be don't want their markets penatrated.
