Gergan is a lifelong Republican and has denounced the SmearVets and stated that the Bush campaign is making a major mistake letting the SmearVets speak for them. This is worse than anything on the left. This is also even worse than Willie Horton. It is a direct attack on the character of not only Kerry but every war hero of America. Why? Because the idiot SmearVets are calling the entire US Navy a liar. SO they're basically saying every medal in Nam was illegitimate and that heros sometimes shoot theselves to get out of combat. Shame on those liars but good news for those of us who want Bushies defeated in a landslide. Gergan speaks the truth. He is a no nonsense expert. The far right in this country has set themselves up for a huge whuppin' in November. Gergan would be advising Bush a lot different. When you feed too much red meat to the extremeists you yourself become an extremist. And in this case a libeler of war heros.
