The court clerks and bailiffs were all agog that the Muslims were washing their hands AND feet in the sinks before prayers! I've been told that to many in India, the Westerners were disgusting in their habits,..."you mean you just wipe that with paper and that's it...don't you guys wash?" Cleanliness is a malleable concept and any visit to India will confirm this. One indigenous thing that the "easterners" have gotten down, imo, is the bathroom, when they've got one and it's done right.
