The telling thing is that the Kerry campaign and its friends in the media are doing everything BUT rebutting the SwiftVet's charges. The "story", as far as most of the press is concerned, is who gave money to SwiftVets and Kerry's outrage at Bush, not the charges themselves. Kerry himself can't do any better than claiming Bush is behind it all and saying "if he wants a debate on Vietnam, bring it on." Well, Bush has never raised Vietnam as an issue. That was Kerry, by 1) making his service and his medals the centerpiece of his campaign and 2) by attacking Bush's service record, claiming repeatedly that he was AWOL and demeaning Guard service in general as if it were worse than running away to Canada (or Oxford). And what happens when other Vietnam vets actually do "bring it on"? Kerry whines that it's unfair and un-American to challenge his pumped up claims of heroism. He's a Vietnam vet, after all, and that subject is off limits . . . except to him, of course. I have one thing I'd like to say to Kerry and his Hollywood and aged hippie followers about Vietnam. It's been more than three decades already! LBJ and Nixon are dead! GET THE FU@# OVER IT!
