Our addition seemed to be the best way to invest our money. We have added sweat equity to our investment in our home. And this investment will likely be liquidated someday to pay for medical needs...so in a way our addition is an investment in our healthcare. You think we should have invested it in stocks?

And you have subsidized nothing.

When it comes to healthcare, it's already been shown that groups of people can be cared for more efficiently than single entities. One could argue that the larger the group the larger the savings. Canada gets the same drugs we get at lower prices.

We're not asking for a handout in health care. In fact given our families great health and lack of need for medical attention, we've always subsidized the others in our insurance group. I expect that to be the same under a national healthcare program. We want to pay for it, but we want it to be efficient and in that respect saving money for us and all Americans.
