Remind me again, just what is it that Kerry does bring to the table, aside from not being George Bush?

It's different things for different folks. Folks are stuck with only two main choices, so people on both sides project what they want to see in a candidate.

I'm about ready to boycott the Presidential election. I wish that Wesley Clark was the Democrat nominee, so we could have a straight-up debate over strategy for the current conflict, rather than this Vietnam rehash. I'm in a solid blue state so my vote doesn't matter anyway.

I was off line for just a few hours. I returned to more than a hundred more swift-mania messages. It's quite amazing, really.

I understand why you frame your question as you do. After all, I've encouraged it by framing the answer according to that formula. There is a flip side, though so I thought I'd toss it in just for a bit of ballast.
Bush's first-term record

The steel tariff and its subsequent flip-flop.
The controversial immigration proposal and its subsequent limbo.
One necessary and more or less ept war.
One unnecessary and inept war.
Patchy and arbitrary homeland security.
Squandering the surplus.
Discouraging stem cell research.
Extending the federal role in public education.
Proposed co-opt of the state role in marriage.
Medicare drug benefit.

As you were... <g>
