My point, against exactly the type of wingnuts like you jfic who spread the story that it was his own grenade, was that if he hadn't been in uniform and in Vietnam, none of that would have happened to him. Anybody who put his body on the line, overseas and in combat, and came home wounded, has the right to be called a hero. And he stands in stark contrast to the Flightsuit, who was too chicken to volunteer to go overseas, and spent his time in the "service" of his country cavorting with cute secretaries in the pool at his apartment complex, partying hearty with his fellow Lucky Duckies in the Guard, and then skipped out on his commitment before it was through.
