My point was that I'd rather not be rehashing this awful Vietnam crap from 35 years ago.

So would I, SS. I hoped we could stay off of it when I started this thread, and objected when people brought it up. But we can't get out of it with Kerry. His '71 "Winter Soldier" would be enough by itself, but his using his nam experience as the lance for his crusade made it impossible to ignore.

I agree.
It is way past time to put Nam to bed.

Too bad Kerry keeps playing that card. He is going to pay for it now.

i don't understand the call to get vietnam behind us or kerry. seems to me kerry may have gotten lots of medals for trivial reasons or even fraudulent reports, and that enhanced his status as an anti-war spokesman in 1971. this notoriety and position may (probably did imho) have propelled him into political office in massachusetts, etc. thus in my simple mind the potential medal fraud got him his first breaks in massachusetts. everything worked fine for him until he went nationwide, and the fraud allegations by the swift boat vets open up a whole new set of eyes for what john kerry might be or have going on inside. massachusetts has had kerry represent it for 20 years, but now kerry wants to represent every american. most americans are just getting to know some things about kerry, and these kind of sensational items are naturally amazing to hear about. so i think this vietnam stuff will stay out front as an issue until it gets knocked down with more disclosure than is coming out of the fronts such as hurley or mcmahon (sp?), etc.
