I have not seen it yet but if my memory is accurate he was dressed like a bum in the hearings. He wore the protester uniform of the day. Unstarched, unpressed, dirty looking fatigues bedecked with unauthorized (with fatigues) medals and he had looong hippy hair. He was a commissioned US Naval Officer still in the Navy who needed a haircut and a clean uniform. He looked like he had to hurry back from a secret mission in Cambodia to get to the Senate hearing. Fonda and Hayden were his handlers then.
