Obviously you haven't been on the "screwee" end of enough bankruptcies. There are lots of tricks that can be played, and the most recent efforts to eliminate them were nipped in the bud by the lefties in Congress -- I think they refused to allow a few abortion protestors to escape fines and be granted a "fresh start" in bankruptcy, although it seems that criminals of nearly every other flavor get a "pass" now. Additionally, the whale could file Chapter 13 and pay some, but not all of its debt.
