I can answer all of these and will, but I am short of time right now.

Relative to one man, many votes, if I as a corporate contributor give a politician $500,000 (in whatever ways I legally or illegally can), I would suggest to you that if the average VOTER contribution is (shall we say) $50, that in terms of INFLUENCE I am able to wield influence to the extent of about 10,000 voters.

Then, if I find that guys in prison are hostile to my party I can deny them the vote (in many states) while they are in prison, and also after they are out of prison also (in some states)

There are many other ways that people are DENIED votes.

And so on. Blacks in some parts of the country, Hispanics in others.

I will get back to you on the other items.

Namaste!

Jim

COOPERATIVE COMMUNITIES

Here's a description of the characteristics of a cooperative community:

Fundamentally, there is only bad “news” in the ordinary, ego-based, un-Enlightened, chaotic world. Instead of waiting for . . . whatever it is that you wait for all the time — you must, yourself, become involved in intimate, cooperative community with other human beings. In a responsible, mutually dependent, cooperative, tolerant, peaceful, and intimate relationship with other human beings, you must create and protect the basics of a truly human culture and of a truly intimate daily human society. … The principal characteristics that stand at the root of any civilization are those of cooperative, human-scale community itself. …those characteristics are … cooperation, interrelatedness, interdependence, non-competitiveness, true (or positive, rather than merely insipid) harmlessness, and positive (or ego-transcending, and other-serving, rather than merely self-negating) self-sacrifice.

I have lived in a number of such communities and presently live in one. They work very well.

Bottom-up democracy would be town government composed of
representatives selected by the communities within the town.
State government selected by communities within the State.
Federal government selected by communities within the Federal unit. In each case one person, one vote.

Town, State and Federal campaign funding provided ONLY by
the respective governments and NO private funding of campaigns.

The present virtual monopoly of the two National political
parties to be broken.

The rights of Corporations to function as a PERSON in many aspects of the law to be ended.

Ideas only. I am not holding my breath for any of this to happen.

Namaste!

Jim
