NOTHING dishonest in the latest ad. JDN, you have got to be kidding. They doctored the videotape by cropping the most important part of the sentence in which Kerry said "Other Vets told me.." That changed the whole meaning of the testimony. It is the worst form of campaign fraud.

I think leaving out the first part of his quote is meant to mislead.

Other than that, I think the second ad is really the crux of these vets issue. I do not fault them for feeling that way. However, I believe they are wrong. If people had not stood up, we would have been in Vietnam for another 10 years, at cost of probably another 100,000 men. It was an unwinnable war.

If the Swifties had merely made the point that they believe Kerry betrayed the vets, it would have been stronger. Instead, they got off on this fantasy that Kerry engineered his medals; a fantasy that is unraveling as the truth comes out. As such, they've lost credibility, and their true message becomes diluted...
