Why would you believe every word that was written in Thailand during the Vietnam War? Those newspaper editors would have their own biased spin for whatever reason. They were probably fed propaganda by No Vietnam. Lt Calley incident is the only verified U.S. atrocity committed in Vietnam. That was indeed one too many.

I see .. geography makes the stories you heard true ..

Technicly you should be saying "I believe" instead of "I know."

Unless, that is, you could testify in court.

You received enough information that converted you to believe. Then again, you may have had a set of beliefs and received information that tended to confirm what you had determined ahead of time to believe.

You were able to hear broadcasts from several countries .. like Cambodia and North Viet Nam?

Again .. You were fed false information that was designed to weaken US resolve.

How do you sort out that kind of information from the valid information? A difficult task.

How about this story:

US solders go into a village and give inoculations to all of the children of the village. The next day they return to find a pile of child arms that had been cut off by the VC.

That was the kind of animals the US was up against there.
