Some people just love conspiracy theories. These SmearVets have Thurlow going on TV shows saying that Kerry had a secret "plan" to become President and that is why he was so courageous in Vietnam. How did they know he had a plan? Because he spent time alone. Oh my ... that proves it!

Both my Dad and Uncle were WWII carrier pilots flying Corsairs. My Uncle once told me that he never talked to the other pilots in the ready room. He just stared straight ahead. Was he planning on becoming President? No. It just broke his heart when the guy next to him didn't return.

They made plenty of friends on leave and in their immediate squadrons. But just like Kerry, they both lost some close friends in combat. Kerry lost his best friend in Vietnam.

Because he had a "plan", because he spent time alone ... what can I say.
