The Democrat heavyweights were counting on the media to diffuse the situation for them. Remember, most of them live in the BosWash media bubble where everybody, and I do mean everybody, just assumed that this was some no-account smear campaign.

We saw it coming because we follow the conservative blogs.

I think the Democratic heavyweights are still in the "Houston, we have a problem" phase of the crisis.
