", the first order of business was likely to secure the safety of the president, obtain vital intel, prepare transportation, and establish the chain of command (none of which require any action from the pres)" That wasn't the job of the President, that was the job of the SS and his staff, his job was to lead the nation and take charge of the crisis....he wasn't to sit on a stool like a frozen lump, he needed to show leadership, e.g Giulianni style.... But not our Bushie, he was incommunicado with the nation the whole day... Oh yes, after the fact we learned that Cheney was in charge (surprise, surprise!). This was your preference?? So why the hell did you vote for Bush??? During the 80's Cheney and Rummy disappeared to get training in leading the nation????? This fact also makes sense since many many never thought Reagan was in charge either.... To be a figure head boy King?????
