Kerry was always immediately returned to duty. In the case of the second purple heart he was treated offshore at a Navy ship and returned to duty a couple hours later. I would think it would take a 1 hour and 59 minutes just to arrange the transporation back and 1 minutes to apply the bactene and bandaid.
