Alan - for once you are right...

Preterism is far from new - but it is definitely

Far from "mainstream" Christianity :-)

Well Alan, your beliefs are based in a faulty interpretation of the original scriptures in your Bible. So we would boil down to arguing about which version of the Bible is accurate.

"my "all will be saved" belief is far from mainstream "church doctrine", as is Brian's Preterist position."

I'm not so sure about that Alan. While I think you are wrong, I think Brian,s view is a slightly more serious departure than yours.

In fact, your view is not out of line with "mainstream "church doctrine"" at all. The mainline Churches are all liberal in their views far beyond what I've heard from you so far. Perhaps your views on other matters would also place you outside the circle of Orthodoxy but just believing wrongly about the ultimate salvation of all people is (IMO) not as serious as denying the future bodily return of Christ. Mind you all the Liberals that I know also would deny the future return of Christ as well.

Your view seems to make the Great Commission unnecessary. Why do you think we should bother with it if Christ will save everyone anyway?
