yep, lay offs change ones perspective to reality. Its that reality that will count come November.

Jobs are always a lagging indicator.

The DOW dropped 50% during Clinton's last year in office.

The job losses after that belong to the demos. That is reality.

One thing you can check kumar...how many people from the bottom 50 of the taxpayer base start companies? Generally, it takes people who make more than $100,000 to start a business, as they usually have a family to support at the same time they are supporting the fledgling baby business. If this new little business is taxed, generally it will die.

There goes the new jobs it might have created.

Government doesn't create any jobs. And whatever government jobs there are are paid by taxpayers, just like you and I. So, we had all better hope that the new small businesses are not taxed out of the starting gate....that is, if we want new jobs created.
