I agree. I can't see much of what Bush has done that should sit well with Libertarians or freedom loving Americans of any stripe, besides perhaps the tax cut. Otherwise he's been a disaster for everything from personal liberties to economic freedom. Bush is taking the U.S. into territory in which it never treaded before. The Constitution is being treated with disdain, with the use of enemy combatant powers being abused and used against American citizens to deny their due process rights. Bush is essentially turning the U.S. into what the Western elites have always dreamed it should be, another Banana Republic that they can pilage and dictate. Sad but true. These developments are highly disturbing.

To be honest - and sincerely, James - I'm not sure that you'd welcome the full implications of your statement vis a vis the Constitution.

I agree, though, completely.
