To: KLP who wrote (62923 ) 8/23/2004 3:33:01 AM From: Sully- Respond to of 793782 Anti-Convention Hackers Pre-emptive Strike Today the Republican group, ProtestWarrior.com, was hacked by the same group of anti-convention hackers who threatened to do so a few weeks ago (related posts here and here). It was further bragged about on the site above. If this is indeed true we have a crime here. I'm assuming the authorities are involved at this stage, and the off-shore site claiming responsibility is currently offline. Willingly or unwillingly I do not know. That site is: phil.ist-backup.de This is an obvious attempt to silence pro-Bush people. It's sad too. I stand as a site clearly vunerable to possible hacks during the convention, being one of a few select bloggers invited, and clearly pro-Bush. I am taking the average precautions, as I am just an ordinary citizen without the benefit of advanced IT skills. But I will not be intimidated. My voice will come out somehow, someway, and will be heard. The state of free speech in this country is in serious trouble as criminals deny those who wish to legally do so their rights. These stories need to be told. No, it is not the entire Left movement, but clearly the entire Left shares some blame. These threats have been out there, and not a single group has condemned these criminals. Perhaps the overall anti-convention movement desires some chaos, and is willing to sacrifice a few people's rights to be better able to speak their piece. And the whole time, these guys are complaining about legitimate and currently legal actions under the US Patriot Act. This is a clear bastard child of the hate-filled movement that has for more than a year NOT BEEN CONDEMNED by Democrats, Liberals and those against Bush who respect the law. This massive failure will come back to haunt the Left. You allowed America's worst to work for your side, knowingly and openly, and for that you are failed leaders. And we will do whatever we can to ensure none of you ever get elected again.slantpoint.com
