If it's not the Daniel Ortega blowjob in the mid-80s (with Harkin as his combat wingman and towel boy) it's his moves to cut the intelligence budget after the first WTC bombing in 1993. If it's not his nuclear freeze votes in the 80s, it's his vote against the first Gulf War in 1991, etc.... Kerry can run. Kerry can hide, but his record will catch him up sooner or later. Now that his Vietnam shtick is gone, I don't understand why he doesn't just run as an unrepentant, unapologetic liberal instead of -dressing as a moderate and not doing a good job of it. He might just reinvent liberalism the way Goldwater reinvented conservatism in 1964 even in defeat against LBJ, but Kerry's probably not smart or courageous enough to do even that.
