It's got some added scenes, but it's still a great movie, with a great bunch of songs for a score. Worth reprising. It gives a real feel of what Kerry's experience must have been like, somewhat dramatized. You get to know how exposed those guys were in the Swift Boats. Viet Nam! Man, that Francis Ford Coppola sure knows how to capture what it was really like there. Yessir. Robert Duval's Kilgore...You smell that? Do you smell that?... Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... It's just a freaking movie dude! Next thing, you'll be telling us that New York Minute with the Olsen sisters is a realistic portrayal of life in New York City. Wake up! Get a grip!
