If Kerry had respected the statement, he would be on better ground. Bush has to be "above the fray." We don't.

We respect Bush's right to say that. Folks on this thread
are not cult like followers of GWB or the Republican
Party. We speak our own minds & have diverse POV's on many
issues. We also understand it would be political suicide
for Bush to lower himself into the gutter with Kerry &
duke this issue out.
