I don't think we want a President who is a saint. I think Jimmy Carter was and is a great human being, but was not a good President. Given that, and the fact that probably most have cheated at golf even if just a bit, I don't use that as the litmus test.

Clinton has a deep character flaw that causes him to cheat on his wife, but he was a much better President than Bush, IMHO. Bush doesn't seem like the type to cheat on his wife, at least in his post-bottle life, but he's done a lousy job as President, again IMHO. From those two data points, one might conclude that wife cheaters make better Presidents, which is ludicrous. You have to consider the whole package.
