I suspect that you missed my point regarding the Parsons' post on Dole. He stated that Dole was a bitter, old man. I merely wanted parsons to say it was his opinion or provide the site which claims that to be the case. Nothing more. I'll give you the last word.

Well, that isn't what I would call self inflicted or made by stupidity and it certainly was during combat.

I do believe there is a great difference between that and throwing a grenade into rice and running.

I do agree, it wasn't wa serious wound as desribed by Bob Dole.
The other wound: Nearly died after being cut down by a German machine-gunner on a meaningless hill in Italy on April 14, 1945, just two days after FDR died and just months before the end of the war.

Then months in a body cast, nine surgeries, infections, new treatments, willing himself to walk again, learning how to use his left hand because the right arm was useless, two Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star.
