Are you sure that NT Leaps aren't traded? I see today's volume at about 384 PUTs and about 2300 calls on the Jan 06 contracts. Under root WNT (Jan 06 expiry), there's an OI of more than 120,000 for the Puts and about 300,000 contracts for the Calls. These are also traded in Montreal where the OI is much smaller for each contract. Montreal also trades Jan 07 leaps under root VNT with OI of about 1000 contracts for the PUTs and less than 600 contracts for the calls. The $8 Call and Put were the most active options today (for NT Jan 07).
