DOle's first wife nursed him back to health and sacrificed much to help him recover. Her rewarded her by ditching her and his first born daughter for Liddy. Dole's story about getting injured in the war is common knowledge............the Democrats just didn't have the lack of class to criticize him and pick him apart like the GOP is doing to Kerry.

"Dole never ran around bragging he had been wounded and won a Purple Heart...He never mentioned it, much to many's chagrin who thought he should." On Hardball tonight Matthews showed a quote from Dole in which he said that one of his wounds was "self inflicted and patched over with a Purple Heart".....this after he criticized Kerry for a "self inflicted wound".....Dole getting senile or just plain political...didn't he realize people might check. He also said that Kerry got two of his PH's on the same day....simply not true!!
