I know they had trouble with rear echelon types keeping "gear in the rear." The latest personal armor, clothing etc. That's normal.

Not anymore.
Each team now receives a healthy pre-OP slush fund to buy any gear they think they need. And they can buy from any source. And The full resources of the Army are available to equip a team, every team.

Before deploying, each team gives what is called a pre-mission brief back. Equipment shortfalls are all resolved before that briefing. No S-4 (supply officer) ever wants to sit in that meeting and hear a team leader tell the boss he doesn't have what he needs to accomplish the mission.
