As for my being welcome, I've never been that.

Simply not true. I always like to read what you write, although I very rarely comment on someone else's post unless I feel I have something substantive to say.

There are actually very few places on the Internet that are set up for dialogue, and of those few, almost none welcome multiple points of view. This is one.

There are people who will try to shout you down, true. I have broadband and am a quick reader so I just glide by them. When someone gets too stroppy I put them on ignore.

To me, this place is always like being in a largish room, maybe a meeting hall. Sometimes people talk nicely, sometimes they shout. It may well be that most of the voices here are anti-Kerry, and you probably won't get very far trying to shout them down. In fact, if you want people to stop talking about the SwiftBoats you're out of luck, and that's a fact.

As for Kumar, he's being a bit of an idiot, but somehow he is unable to see that. So he gets shouted down. Shut up Kumar, we aren't going to change the topic to suit you, sorry. He won't shut up anyway, he'll keep muttering away whether anybody is listening or not.
