Jim, Did you know that 50% of the media claims to be independent but we know that's just wishful thinking.

Claiming to be "independent" means nothing more than claiming the right to attack those who supposedly aren't.

The first rule of partisan politics: Always accuse the other side of partisan politics.

re: Hey, it may mean something in your small mind but when it comes to the election you can just vote Dem...no biggie.

In this Presidential election I'm voting moderate rather than neo-conservative. I might have even voted conservative if there was one running.

The Democrats and Republicans are both self-perpetuating marketing schemes that seldom reflect any underlying principles.

I would be interested to see that study. According to this report, 61% of journalists saw themselves "leaning liberal/Democratic"; 15% "leaning conservative/Republican" with the rest presumably independent.......24%.

mrc.org

And this report claims that in 1996, 89% of journalists voted for Clinton:

It would seem your 50% independent is a bit off. From where did you get that number? The RNC's voting guide for FLA?

Therefore, maybe when people say they are independent, they really are independent. What a concept!
