They are watching the death of their candidate. Don't be so sure. Remember that Gore's drug use aroused nearly the same level of passion that we're seeing with the Swifties, yet ultimately was not as significant as the passion would suggest. It's a long campaign, and there are many things that could happen to influence the result. For starters, Kerry could make a Checkers type speech that might take the wind out of the Swfities' issue. I see the possible beginning of such a tactic in Kerry's phone call to Brant.
