POT, KETTLE CALL EACH OTHER BLACK FROM RESPECTIVE GLASS HOUSES
02/17/04 WASHINGTON, DC

Speaking from their respective glass houses, the Pot and the Kettle traded accusations this weekend, each insisting that the other is black. (RealStory @ washingtonpost.com)

"That Kettle, he's as black as the ace of spades," the Pot intoned.

"That Pot, now he's blacker than a cave at midnight," the Kettle retorted.

"Am not," said the Pot.

"Are too," replied the Kettle.

A leading cooking utensil expert, the Skillet, predicted that the accusations would continue for a good 37 weeks or so, coming to a climax sometime in early November.

"I know these guys," the Skillet insisted. "They've been accusing each other of being black forever.

"Seems that hypocritical accusations of being black are the mother's milk of cooking utensil rhetoric." (RealStory @ opensecrets.org)

In related news, cooking utensil watchdog groups document that the Pot has taken over $600,000 from special interest groups over the last fifteen years, while the Kettle has taken millions since 1999, including over $600,000 from a single donor, Enron. (RealStory @ contracostatimes.com)

"Well sure, I took the money," the Pot admitted. "That Kettle is still blacker than the bottom of a very deep well on a moonless night."

"Yeah, I took the money," the Kettle scoffed. "So what? That damn Pot is as black as the dark side of the moon."

"Am not," the Pot insisted.

"Are too," the Kettle replied.
