Isn't faking medals easier than getting the real thing. JFK had critics and to this day there are those that say those on watch were asleep and should have been court martialed. JFK did save crewmembers for sure and he was definitely hurt by the enemy action..no question. I think PT109 was out of gas, but nobody seemed to be on watch.
