I doubt it. The North Koreans are every bit as fanatical, if not more. Sure, they have a lot of problems, probably even fatal ones. But if Kim Jong-il decides it is all going to crumble, he is perfectly capable of deciding to go out with a bang. And there is no one to tell him 'no', and no one will decide 'this is nuts, I'm lighting out for Chile'...

Sure, the brinkmanship is just a face saving way to negotiate. But if their hand is called, they have nothing to lose. There is a big difference between that attitude when you can't hardly scrape up enough explosives to pack into a truck, and when you have a large army complete with guns, tanks, jets and nuclear weapons.
