Jim,

Actually I learned quite a bit via these postings, as I always do. For example, I had never read an Anne Coulter article, although I won't bookmark her site, she did entertain me with the John Edwards' channeling story. Also, I would not have bothered with the Swiftvets thing on my own, but found your link to be of great value, and very enlightening. Of course my vote was never a swing vote, so the Bush cause was not advantaged.

Trying to comprehend Ed's point of view made me think and rethink a few things, too. So I don't think it was or is a total loss.

It's going to be an ugly election, and I'm not sure to whose advantage that will be. The Republic will survive no matter who is elected, conservatives don't feel the need to predict the end of western civilization if the opposition party is elected or threaten to leave the country. (I notice that Alec Baldwin is curiously quiet about his travel plans this go-round.)

Jim,

I'm drawn back to CPN--can you give me a view on its longer term (1-2 years) viability. Technically there is a ray of light on this one.

TIA,
