Only in the last year has he been criticized for anything.

Not true. Even before the last year you had criticism ranging from web sites comparing Bush to a monkey, to attacks on Bush from Democrats to statements in conservative publications complaining about Bush's lack of control on spending or some other real or perceived fault of Bush or his policies.

He probably did get a few months of a real free ride and then a few months or even as much as a year of slightly softer criticism but that's about it. For awhile now (more then a year) the criticism has been very harsh.

HE GOT A FREE PASS! This administration has made more serious mistakes than any other presidency I have ever had the bad fortune to experience.

He's blown the economy; blown the budget; blown Iraq; blown Afghanistan; blown our alliances; blown any chance of some kind of relationship with the Muslims for the foreseeable future; and essentially made the US one of the most hated nations in the world.

While Bush was wreaking all this havoc, the major media in the country were mute. Frightingly mute!

Until last summer/early fall, I had to read the Brit., Aussie and Canadian news media to find what was really going on in this world.
