Now don't get me wrong uw. I think this thread is the best political thread on SI. I agree with your description of it. The cocoon I am concerned about is that we come here & to the blogs that are doing yeomens work vetting the Swift Boat Vets issues. We have gained so much knowledge of what really went down (plus the media's blatant cover up/smear job). Due to our broader understanding of the facts, we are generally convinced that this will be the end of Kerry's hopes of winning the WH (at least it should if folks knew what we now know). We could be setting ourselves up for a bit of a disappointment if the liberal media & Team Kerry succeed in spiking the real story & duping those who rely on traditional media coverage of the Swiftees. <font color=blue>"I think the only way to go is not depend on the media. Each of us must make it our individual responsibility to inform our friends and neighbors."<font color=black> I agree. Most of us are doing just that. It still is a David vs. Goliath situation. And Goliath continues to pound the Swifties mercilessly with a left wing smear job, while laying blame directly at Bush. I have been scanning the TV, reading this thread & others & following the blogs on this. The liberal media & Team Kerry continue, arm in arm, lying, distorting, revising history & smearing the Swiftees & Bush..... regardless of the facts. I have no intention of giving up. I'm just not convinced that our vetting of this & spreading the truth is going to overcome the concerted effort of the liberal media, Team Kerry & their 527's on the Swift Boat issue.
