They already caught Kerry on one one lie - about Christmas in Cambodia.
He said it was seared into his memory.

Having said that, from everything I have heard about combat, there are often very difficult situations where
cowards become heroes. Remember "Red Badge of Courage?"

It is generally bad form to get very critical of combat veterans, since often mistakes are made and everyone in that situation has shown weakness and strength.
