It was beautiful work, and occurred during the, dare I say, Clinton years.

I have no problem giving credit where credit is due. The "Nixon in China" effect works real well because of gridlock. Conservatives can do liberal things and get them passed, and vice-versa.

Most Presidents are just surfing the economic waves. They can best effect the economy by doing things that free it. Clinton with free trade, Bush with lower taxes. Anything else usually turns out to be a boondoggle.

Our government helped sell the world on the idea that all computers will crash unless updated.

You know, if they had not been updated, every program that used a 2 digit date code would have produced buggy results in 2001. Which do you think was the government conspiracy, using the 2 digit date codes in the first place, or fixing them before they caused the bugs?
