There's been a revival of the Vietnam Revisionists Society, the ones that seem to think that a little more effort, change of tactics, and silencing of critics would have won that war. Led by Coulter and other RWEs, they really don't give a hoot about Vietnam, its people, or the vets who fought there. What they DO care about is bashing leftists, like LBJ and JFK, while doing Reagan-like Extreme Makeovers on Nixon and all other rightists.

There are many who thought we lost Vietnam because we didn't have the "will" to stick it out. Never mind that it was an evil war, fought on even thinner reasoning than Iraq, to prop up a "domino" in the war against communism.
Once we were in the war, even though victory would be as profitless as defeat, it became a matter of dick-swinging American pride not to "Lose". Lyndon Johnson hung in because he "wasn't going to be the first American President to lose a war." So like Iraq. Proof that when you don't learn from history, you're doomed to repeat it.
