I remember now. Wasn't during the 1968 campaign that Nixon said we must not abandon the South Vietnamese, "but I promise to withdraw John Kerry from Cambodia in my first month in office."?...

A coalition government in Saigon.

and

Complete withdrawal of John Kerry from Cambodia.

But I believe the Democrats, in their 1968 platform, finally settled on a PHASED withdrawal of John Kerry from Cambodia, one Purple Heart at a time, over 4 /2 months...
