He was trained in the F-102, which could not drop bombs...it was a fighter interceptor....not quite needed in the latter stages of the Viet Nam War.

And that is why he missed his flight physical and went to Alabama to work on a political campaign? He wasn't needed?

LOL...ROTFLMAO...

Do not disparage his service in the Nat'l Guard...19 of 43 Presidents have served in the Nat'l Guard.

Would not disparage service in the NG for one second. But Bush's record shows us that he did not take his service seriously. If he did he would have made the flight physical and kept his hours up.

I'm sorry...but leaving your duty to work on a political campaign? This after wasting millions of tax payer dollars in training? You just decide that working on the campaign is more important than serving your country? And then walk away...with out permission?

Kerry served honorably and has a distinguished military career, just as McCain did. Makes no difference to the Bush machine who they denigrate...just so long as Rove gets to and stays in the White House.

Kerry laid it all out there as his claim to fame.

Not only that - he keeps begging Bush for a debate on service records. Bush doesn't take the bait, so Kerry just stands there looking stupid. Then when SwiftVets take him up on his challenge, he whines "foul."
