I can only respond as a sub sailor but I'm certain being a skimmer puke, er target, er hell I mean one of those surface doods, it's the same. You don't go any f-ing place on the planet without knowing exactly where you are and how much water is under your boat, etc. This isn't joy riding in somebody's pontoon we are talking about. Run this thing aground on a sand bar while skimming along and you are on foot. Think of this, you round a bend into an ambush and need to call for more boats or air support, what do you do, pull into shore and ask where the hell am I so I can call for help? It's absurd to think of this dipshit running around in command of a small boat not knowing where he is.
