"You forgot the new Iraq. They would definitely be pro-Iran in such an event."

Iraq shiaa would march with them. Sunnis support the Pals so they too would be onboard if they had a military that is.

"However, they (egypt) have engaged Israel in war previously and seem more and more iching to go at it again, especially over the Palestinian issue. "

I dont think mubarek goes down that road but of course if he doesnt he risks being overthrown. As a Jew, and an old one at that, i have studied the region over a long period of time. The nightmare has always been 100 million arabs united and on the march but given the arab world that has always been an impossibility--now add iran to the mix along with a coalition of willing arabs ready to grab the spoils when the persians march and i do worry. And thats why israel has nukes and i worry about that too. I would rather be a user of nukes than a victim but the carnage and residual affects of a nuke war make this not a world fit for our young.
