Boy, are you ever edgy? Looks like I have touched a raw nerve somewhere, eh?
Ah! evidently, you failed to notice my qualifier, "or so it seems".

Whoa! Do you ever jump to conclusions fast?
Anger? What are you talking about? As an American, haven't you heard of free speech/comment?

Perogies? I have never lived in Manitoba. Nor am I a perogie- eater or maker. Perogies are a dime a dozen in most places in. N. America!!!

You are right about one thing though: Canada has always been poor in sports competitions. I myself have criticized the government and the schools about this and have taken a lot of heat for it. Despite spending lots of money and time on physical education and sports and making phys. ed. compulsory for graduation from high school, Canadians have little to show for their efforts in the international sports arena.

In case you didn't know, despite America being the #1 country in the world in many ways and the fact that presidents from Reagan on have claimed to be education presidents, the standard of education in most American high schools has been below par and their senior high students have regularly been humbled in international tests and competitions! (Ditto for Canadian students!!!)

By the way, the British philosopher and academic, Bertrand Russell, who was in New York State (ca., late 1940s and early 1950s) wrote that Americans would rather be humbled in the classroom than on the sports field. No wonder American athletes have been so superior all along, eh?
