IMO, you guys are making too much of a stink about Kerry's testimony and the perceived betrayal of the veterans.

The Swift Vet's story that Kerry promoted his medals and lied about his service over there is being proved to be factual. Two of the charges, Cambodia and the first Purple heart, are done in by Kerry's Biography and his own statements over the years. The Swift Vets have just put the spotlight on them.

What we are following is the fascinating story of the media's attempt to spike, dodge, and distort the story. Plus the political effect of all this.

This is the most outstanding incident I have ever seen in a political campaign. It is unfolding like watching Woodward and Bernstein in "All the Presidents Men."

Only, in this case, the papers are doing the opposite. Covering up the story.

You need to be able to sum up the argument against Kerry in a few brief talking points, not a 50-volume inquisition.

Gimme a break. How brief do I need to be?
I've narrowed it down to two quotes. John Kerry made both on national television in 1971. The total word count is 115.

In 115 words John Kerry indicted himself as a war criminal.

"I committed the same kinds of atrocities as thousands of others in that I shot in free fire zones, used harassment and interdiction fire, joined in search and destroy missions, and burned villages."

"I did take part in free-fire zones, I did take part in harassment and interdiction fire, I did take part in search-and-destroy missions in which the houses of noncombatants were burned to the ground. And all of these acts, I find out later on, are contrary to the Hague and Geneva conventions and to the laws of warfare. So in that sense, anybody who took part in those, if you carry out the application of the Nuremberg Principles, is in fact guilty."

Snowshoe, The point of keeping these statements, and then rebuttals, by Kerry, is a clear indication of him being unworthy of being CIC. Every detail of his lying, flip-flopping, and crowing about medals he received under questionable circumstances, are things the voting public needs to know.

Whether they be old, or trivial in some people's mind, they are germane to his ability to run the nation.
