Good grief, Laz, when it comes to spreading misconceptions re California, you are guiltier than the mainstream press!

Bakersfield? Modesto? Fresno? Sparsely populated? I could go on.

"The northern part of the state is forest, also sparsely populated."
Whaaaaat? Tell that to Sacramento, et al!

Tell ya what. Take all of the small, sparsely populated towns, add 'em up and stack 'em up against the population centers, then subtract the many conservatives who still inhabit those population centers.
