CJ, How is this relevant? The revenues, minus expenses, are profits that the company that is distributing the movie takes as profits. This is different than money spent on airing commercials...

I figure anyone and everyone who paid to see "Fahrenheit 9/11" effectively made a political donation to the Democratic Party. None of that is subject to campaign finance laws, and none of it should be, either. But if money truly corrupts politics, then $100M in revenues just corrupted Hollywood politics.


Very little of what you said above is true. MM is a private citizen who may or may not be registered Democrat. Money paid to him or his distributor does not go directly to the DNC. In fact, if I remember correctly, the distributor is a Canadian firm.

Although it has not been announced, its very likely MM contributes to the Democratic party; however, the amount of his contribution is restricted by campaign laws just like with everyone else.
