WHAT THAT MEANS

I don't argue it at length. It had no "absolute" definition, and means many things to many people. So you can twist it anyway you want.

I believe in "Exceptionalism." The idea that we in the "west" have THE superior culture in the world. The "West" is the "core" civilization.

I believe that the solution to the world's wars, and the "end of history," as predicted by Hegel and more recently by Fukuyama, can be achieved by closing the "gap" with the third world.

This can be achieved by "globalization." This is inevitable if we can keep the discontented ones in the gap who are attacking us from succeeding.

Sound's simple, doesn't it? :>)

The cutting edge guy on these ideas is Thomas P.M. Barnett. Dr. Barnett is best known as the author of The Pentagon's New Map: War and Peace in the Twenty-First Century amazon.com
